What is SSC CGL?

 

SSC CGL  exam 2018 consisting of four stages of selection, namely Tier I, Tier II, Tier III, Tier IV. The official dates of SSC CGL Tier I exam 2018 will be announced soon by the Commission.  SSC CGL 2018 result will be declared in within 30 days of the examination. However, SSC CGSL Tier II of 2017 is postponed again as per the official notification.

 

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an organisation under Government of India conducts Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination for the recruitment of Grade “B” and “C” categories posts in various Government Ministries, Departments and Offices. Every year, around 30-40 lakh applications, are received for SSC CGL Exam. Every year, a huge number of applicants appear in this exam to become the part of this immense recruitment procedure.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will released an important notification regarding Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier I exam 2018. Online registration for the computer based examination (CBE) will commence from in May or June month.

SSC CGL Eligibility 2018

 

SSC CGL 2018 Eligibility criteria have been decided as per the posts. Eligibility criteria are the conditions which candidates need to fulfil to apply SSC CGL exam. Candidates should check the given table mentioned below.

Candidates, who are eligible as per the given SSC CGL education qualification, only those are allowed to apply online for SSC CGL application from 2018. Candidates are suggested to wait till the official release of SSC CGL notification 2018, which will release soon.


SSC CGL 2018 Age Limit

 

Candidates minimum age should be 18 years. Age relaxation will be applied only for the reserved category candidates as per the Government rule - such as OBC-3 years, SC/ST- 5 years, and PH – 10 years.

SSC CGL 2018 Application Form

 

All the Interested and Eligible candidates can apply by filling the SSC CGL 2018 Application form online through the official website of SSC. SSC CGL 2018 Application Form will be available tentatively in May 2017An Application form submitted not in prescribed format or incomplete is liable to be rejected by the respective authority.

There are three modes in which the applicants can remit the SSC CGL 2018 Application Fee.

 


 SSC CGL Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2018

 

SSC CGL 2018 exam consists of 4 tiers. The first 2 tiers will be computer based test while tier 3 would be a written descriptive test and tier 4 would be a skill test. There will be 4 sections consisting of 25 questions each in Tier 1. The time allotted for the exam is 75 minutes and the total marks allotted is 200 marks. SSC CGL Tier 1 would be held in July 2018.

Tier 2 comprises separate paper for Quantitative Abilities, English Language & comprehension, Statistics and General Studies (Finance and Economics). All the papers consist of 100 questions each. The time duration for all the papers is 2 hours while total marks allotted per paper is 200. SSC CGL Tier II is scheduled to be held in September 2018.

SSC CGL 2018 Tier 3 is a Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi consisting of Essay/ Precise/ Letter/ Application writing. The total marks allotted for the paper is 100. All candidates will be given 60 minutes to complete the paper. It is scheduled to take place on November 2018.

SSC CGL 2017 Tier 4 is a Skill Test and will be conducted in December 2018. It is the final stage of CGL exam. The Tier 4 exam is conducted to test the typing skills of the candidate for various posts. The stage 4 is also known as Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) / Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). SSC CGL Admit Card 2018

 

Commission releases the SSC CGL 2018 Admit Card from the official website of SSC. There will be separate admit cards for each Tier of SSC CGL 2017. The SSC CGL 2018 Admit Card for Tier I will be tentatively released in the month of August. The candidates can follow these steps to download the SSC CGL Admit Card.

 

  1. Go to the Regional websites of SSC. (Eg: for a candidate of Delhi, visit the official site of SSC Northern Region)
  2. The applicants can download the SSC CGL 2018 Admit Card by using their Registration ID, By Roll No. or by Name including the candidate’s Date of Birth
  3. Click on  “Search status”.
  4. The candidates can then download the SSC CGL Admit Card and take a print out of the same.

SSC CGL Cutoff 2018

 

After the completion of all 3 tiers, SSC releases a combined cut off for different categories. Candidates can check below previous year cutoff to get an idea about SSC CGL cut off range.

SSC CGL 2018 Result

 

SSC CGL 2018 Result is separately released for each of the 3 Tiers. The candidates can access the SSC CGL Result from the official website of SSC. The Commission releases the result in PDF Format. The candidates have to check their result against their Name and roll number. The individual score card will also be uploaded to the official website. The candidates can avail the same using their Registration no./ Roll no. and date of birth.


SSC CGL Selection Process 2018

 

SSC CGL 2018 Selection Process consists of 3 Tiers. Each Tier acts as a qualifying stage for the next Tier. The final shortlisted candidates are gauged on the basis of cumulative performance of all the 3 Tiers. A tier IV is also available which is a Data Skill Test (DEST)/ Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). The Commission conducts it whenever applicable only for specific posts.

 

The SSC CGL Selection Process also has a document verification stage where the eligibility of the candidates will be counter checked along with the documents they produce.
